We loved being a part of this local project that restored a beautiful garden using native plants. Given the native plant focus, we felt there was no better wood to use for the garden bench and hand rail than our favorite black locust, native to Western North Carolina. The bench was placed in an area where a tree once stood and allowed the client to close up the space without having to disturb the garden by grinding the stump. We hit a few roots, but were able to work around them! The locust hand rail provided the needed support in a sloping area of the garden.
This wonderful garden in Biltmore Forest, was featured in a recent Asheville Citizen-Times article. Read more about it here.
