To a lover of all things handmade, it is a pure joy to own and cherish an authentic American-made piece of rustic furniture.  Two decades ago, I built my first log bed with a friend, sold it at a flea market, immediately got an order for another one, and this business, built on a passion for all things well-crafted, was born.

Our beautiful log furniture, stairs and railings, and other elements for your home have their beginnings in the hills of North America where logs are harvested,  or fine old materials are reclaimed, and sent to Appalachian Designs to be transformed into items of artistic and natural beauty. Our operation is also a source for builders and others looking for Appalachian forest products and rustic building components. We were featured in an Asheville Citizen-Times story.
